Volunteer as a Group
For more than 80 years the Grand Traverse Conservation District (GTCD) has worked to conserve the natural resources that support and sustain the Grand Traverse region. As part of that work, the Conservation District manages 2,500 acres of public parkland and provides stewardship for the Boardman River.
Your group/organization can assist GTCD’s restoration efforts by assisting with, but not limited to:
Seasonal native tree and perennial planting
Tend to the Native Gardens surrounding the Boardman River Nature Center
Assisting with a trail stewardship project
Location: The Boardman River Nature Center, located at 1450 Cass Rd., Traverse City, MI 49685, or on one of the Grand Traverse Conservation District's managed parklands.
Responsible To: Outreach & Giving Coordinator, Miranda Fraley
Time Commitment: One to four hours as needed/as scheduled
Qualifications: Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, and dependability.
Next Steps & Training: Training for this specific position will be provided onsite by District staff and will be readily available for questions and assistance.
