Alli grew up in Ann Arbor and has always been enamored with the outside world. Her first introduction to Michigan’s great outdoors was wading in the Huron River, debating whether to befriend or avoid the resident crayfish.
After graduating from Ferris State University with a degree in Hospitality Management, she moved to Traverse City for an internship and quickly fell in love with lakeside living and the community that surrounds it. She has long been passionate about natural resource use and sustainability, helping implement and maintain green practices in her workplaces and educating colleagues to empower them to do the same. Over time, it became clear that those interests were pulling her towards a new career path. After going back to school for an AS in Environmental Science, Alli is looking forward to continuing her education both formally and on the job at GTCD over the coming years.
Alli enjoys running, reading, thrifting, and honing her budding naturalist skills in our region’s abundant natural areas. She is an avid traveler and loves experiencing the varied natural and urban landscapes of the world.
