PEEPERS PROGRAM
***Sessions will take place ENTIRELY OUTDOORS; please come prepared! ***
Our Peepers Program is an adult-accompanied program for early learners ages 3-5 years old, of all experience levels with the natural world. Join us for 60-minute nature programs that include stories, crafts, music, and discovery activities. The program cost is $5/child per session.
9/10 - Let’s Go Camping!
Pack your backpack and your imagination, we’re going camping!
9/17 - Tracks and scat
Join us to find out how we can tell wildlife is around, even when we cannot see them! We will test our nature detective skills by searching for clues critters leave behind.
9/24 - How's the Weather?
What are clouds made of? How is a tornado created? This week we will learn about the mystery of weather!
10/01 - Fascinating Fungi
Let’s explore the fascinating world of fungi! Learn about decomposers and go on a walk to find fungi in the woods!
10/08 - Fossils
Fossils uncover the world of the past. Learn about how fossils are created and make your own fossil to take home!
10/15 - The Big Pumpkin
It’s that time of year again when pumpkins are all over the place! Join us this week to learn about the life cycle of pumpkins.

Join us in exploring the Nature Center grounds while we learn how bats are helpful critters.

We’re going on a nature hunt! Help us navigate a map of the Natural Education Reserve to find a fun surprise!

PEEPERS FAQ
Who can attend?
This program is specifically developed for children ages 3-5. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of each session.
Are siblings allowed to attend?
Absolutely! Many attendees bring older or younger siblings. We do ask though, if sibling will be participating in activities/crafts etc that the additional $5 participation fee is applied. This can be submitted via cash on the day of the program.
When is the Peepers Program?
The Peepers Program is held once a week on Tuesdays from 10:00am-11:00am.

What is your cancellation policy?
**Procedures **
- Registration is not complete until payment is received.
- Any changes to an event, class, workshop, program, etc. for any reason, including inclement weather, will be communicated with registrants as soon as possible.
- All programming may be subject to change.
- Each program participant must sign a waiver.
- GTCD reserves the right to remove a program participant due to inappropriate behavior.
**Refund Policy **
- Cancellation requests received in writing 30 days before the program date will receive a full refund minus a 5% processing fee.
- Due to the cost of processing, refund requests less than $10.00 will not be issued.
- There are no refunds for cancellations within 30 days of the program date.
- If cancellation occurs via the following, there will be no refund issued:
- Weather or other related emergencies
- Covid-19/pandemic/illness related cancellation
- There are no refunds for no-shows.

What is your weather policy?
Rain or shine program will be held. Please come prepared for all weather types. When the weather is unsafe to be outside, sessions will be cancelled at GTCD’s discretion.
- If TCAPS schools experience a snow day, programming will also experience a snow day.
- If NMC is closed, Grand Traverse Conservation District offices and the Boardman River Nature Center will be closed. All programming will be canceled.
What are your COVID-19 Protocols?
We will not be requiring children to wear masks outside. If it is your preference that your child wears a mask during class, that is not a problem!
You are required to inform Grand Traverse Conservation District (GTCD) if anyone in your household has had exposure to someone who is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, who is undergoing testing for COVID-19, or who has tested positive for COVID-19.
