Description: Celebrate the midst of the morel season by brushing up on your morel knowledge and mushroom hunting best practices. At this outdoor mini-lecture, we’ll cover the basics of morel morphology and ecology, how to distinguish edible morels from their poisonous look-a-likes, and the best practices for how to safely harvest wild mushrooms. Following the presentation at the Boardman River Nature Center, we’ll head out for a hike towards the Meadows Pavilion in search of some specimens! Come connect with fellow mushroom lovers and celebrate morel hunting season.
