Doug was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula, where he loved to fish and spend a large amount of his time on Lake Superior.

After college graduation, he moved to Traverse City to pursue a career in Public Accounting.

When not working, Doug spends his time outside either boating or fishing on the bays, or taking his lab on trail walks.
