Dario’s roots are in Traverse City where he grew up playing sports, picking cherries, and valuing the outdoors. He studied Resource, Ecology, and Management at the University of Michigan. After graduating, Dario worked for the National Park Service (Sleeping Bear Dunes Lakeshore) and the National Wildlife Federation. Shortly after, he graduated with an M.B.A. from Michigan State University, and lived in Arizona and Petoskey. He returned to Traverse City with his family in 2015, looking to serve the community.
Over the years, Traverse City has grown and changed. While still firmly planted in its roots, Northern Michigan is continually challenged to embrace the future while respecting its heritage. Dario looks forward to helping guide the Conservation District responsibly.
You might find Dario outside – all seasons. He enjoys open water swimming, cross country skiing (and snowshoeing), mountain biking, kayak fishing and hiking. He also relishes the occasional ice cream sandwich.
