Within this 505-acre natural area are a marsh, swamp, level terrain, upland forest, pine forest, creek, and a river. The cover types of the area provide excellent habitat for beaver, otter, mink, fox, deer, and many other animals and birds. The Boardman River runs through the property and is the central feature of the reserve.
