Arbor Day Volunteer Work Bee: Planting Trees Along the Boardman River

Where: Grand Traverse County’s Natural Education Reserve

Meeting Location: (Former) Boardman Pond Trailhead adjacent to the new Cass Rd. Bridge spanning the Boardman River

Grab your shovel and come celebrate Arbor Day with Conservation District staff by helping restore the exposed bottomlands following the recent removal of Boardman and Sabin dams. Learn more about the river restoration process while you get your hands dirty planting native seedlings along the ‘new’ stretches of the Boardman River. Light snacks, water, and a limited number of extra shovels will be provided.
