This week at Knee-High Naturalists we learned all about birds! We learned about the owls of Michigan and listened to their calls, and identified the species of owl on display in the nature center. We also used our sensory bins to discover how birds have many types of beak and how they use them in different ways. Outside we used binoculars to spot birds, and listened to the song of the chickadee. The naturalists spent some time climbing trees and rolling logs after we had snack on the trail, then we discovered a natural spring under the boardwalk! We had a special visit from a news crew this morning, and they joined us for part of our hike!
Keep checking back every week to follow the Knee-High Naturalists on all of their adventures!
