Robin Christensen, Invasive Species Program Coordinator

Robin graduated from Pine River Area High School in 1999 and received her B.S. in Natural Resource Management from Grand Valley State University in 2002. After graduation, she worked in Florida with the USDA- Agricultural Research Service researching biological control agents of the invasive melaleuca plant and gained a passion for protecting the natural biodiversity of our precious natural areas. She returned to Michigan to obtain her M.S. in Applied Ecology from Michigan Tech University, studying the effects of global climate change on soil chemistry. Robin has also worked with the U.S. Forest Service on carbon sequestration and with MTU on wood decomposition rates in soils across the world. She has been with GTCD since the spring of 2007.

Robin is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys anything outdoors- hiking, backpacking, gardening, snowshoeing, snowboarding, etc.)
