October 7th – FALLing for Fruit!

20141007_104716 20141007_104733 20141007_104853Hey Peepers!

Today we learned about our favorite fall fruits – APPLES! We read some fun books and sang some neat songs! Afterwards, we made fun crafts! We made apple cores out of paper plates, as well as apple trees with bingo markers! We then had a fun sensory activity where we made “apple pies” out of oats! Our favorite part of the day was getting to try 18 different varieties of apples from MAEAP verified farms (Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program, learn more here)! We then took a look at the apple trees around the nature center and enjoyed a quick hike!

Next week, we are learning all about those mammals that fly in the sky – BATS! We’ll be learning about all of their really cool adaptations!

See you next week!
