Michelle Handke graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Madison with a BS in Biological Conservation and a certificate in Environmental Sciences. She loved being a Badger so much, she hopes to return for a Masters degree in Water Resource Management. She spent 3 of 4 years at the university working for University Housing as a Financial Manager and then as an Involvement Coordinator for their largest residence hall.
Michelle grew up in the Chicago suburbs, but spent most of her summers visiting family in Traverse City and always planned to move here. When she is not working on Education programs or coordinating volunteers at the GTCD, she enjoys playing with her puppy, Cooper (or any other animal she come across), taking pictures of anything and everything, and kayaking on Long Lake.
