Inspiring exploration, appreciation, and conservation of our natural world.

Meet the Peepers Staff!

All of our “Peeper People” are passionate about nature – playing in it, learning about it, and protecting it. They can’t wait to meet your little nature explorer and share their passion with them (and you too!)

Our newest Peepers staff member is Emily Edwards! Emily joins the team with a B.S. in Environmental Biology/Zoology from Michigan State University. She is currently working towards being a Child Development Associate (CDA) and finishing a Child Development Certificate at Northwest Michigan College.

She has worked in various environmental education capacities including as seasonal staff for the Grand Traverse Conservation District, as a Wilderness Educator Intern at Baxter State Park in Maine and through substitute teaching at local schools.

Barb Levi is our veteran Peepers staff member. Barb was involved with Peepers from the ground up and originally taught with a fellow teaching friend.  Barb has lived in the area for 36 years and was a preschool teacher at a local school for 30+ of those years. She has always had a great appreciation for the outdoors and says, “Nature is one of the best ways to connect kids to everything.”

Barb has a degree in Speech Therapy from Michigan State University and a secondary degree in Elementary Education.
