Don’t Plant Them

Plant Native to Help Stop the Spread of Invasive Species

More than half of the plants on the Top 20 list arrived for use in landscapes. Several of the plants causing serious problems downstate haven’t yet arrived, but would most likely do so through landscape use. Many staple landscape plants now show signs of becoming a growing problem in our area.

Learn which plants are invasive in our region, and avoid planting them in your home landscape.  Instead, plant nature; plant native plants.

ISN is currently in contact with nurseries across the five county area discussing how we can guide customers away from invasive plants.  You can help with this effort! Nurseries will sell the plants that you demand. Contact your local nurseries and ask them to label invasive plants and to stock and label more native plants.
