14th Annual Boardman River Clean-Sweep – Volunteer River Clean-up

For the past 13 years, a group of volunteers led by Dr. Norm Fred have cleaned the Boardman River of trash. Over the years, this effort has expanded to include other northern Michigan rivers as well. The clean-up event is followed by a picnic at the Oleson Pavilion here at the Boardman River Nature Center. Join the Invasive Species Network and artist Jane Kramer as we celebrate the opening of her show, “Foreshadowing – Endangered & Threatened Plant Species”. For this project, Jane photographs the shadows of endangered plant species and transfers the images onto paper made from the invasive plant species that threaten them.
