March 8 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE
planting native trees

Before you place your order with your local nursery or Conservation District, learn about selecting the right native species for your specific goals, and how to maximize planting success by proper site selection/preparation, improved planting techniques, and follow-up protection and care. Whether you are reforesting fallow acres or just enhancing landscape around your home, this workshop will help landowners make good decisions as they plant. The 2-hour workshop will be presented by Kama Ross, District Forester for the Leelanau, Benzie, and Grand Traverse Conservation Districts, Chris Garthe, Plant Specialist with the Leelanau Conservation District, Andrew Milliron, Wildlife Habitat Specialist and owner of Ironway Outdoors, and Jerry Konczal, owner of Northern Natives, a nursery and landscape company near Maple City for over 35 years.

To register, contact District Forester Kama Ross at 231-256-9783 or kama.ross@macd.org.
