In collaboration with Great Start to Quality and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Grand Traverse Conservation District will be hosting a professional development workshop called “Growing Up Wild” at the Boardman River Nature Center from 9:00-12:00pm. This workshop is for educators educating 3-7 year olds.
Growing Up Wild will immerse participants in a 27 activity guide focused on engaging early learners in developmentally appropriate real world science practices. The training will model best teaching practices for encouraging students to enjoy and understand life science, math and ELA concepts through hands-on activities aligned with Head Start Domains and NAEYC Criteria, that meets many learning styles. There will be a presentation by Natalie Elkins. Best of all, this workshop is FREE OF CHARGE!
