Inspiring exploration, appreciation, and conservation of our natural world.

12/1 Hibernation Station

This week at Knee-High Naturalists we learned about hibernation! Inside we discussed how animals get ready for winter, and read Over and Under the Snow by Kate Messner. We learned how an animals temperature drops and their heartbeat slows during hibernation, and that some frogs freeze completely solid during hibernation! Outside we searched for hibernation holes, and found our own hibernation spots.

Keep checking back every week to follow the Knee-High Naturalists on all of their adventures!
