9/15-Life Under a Log

Hey Knee-High Naturalists!

Today we learned all about life under a log! We circled up on our log pillows, and read a story about all of the animals, insects, and fungi that live in logs. With these critters in mind we made our way down the trail to discover some logs of our own. We used trowels, magnifying glasses, and tweezers to help us with our investigation. We got to see a tree turning into soil, snails, worms, a purple mushroom, and more! In the classroom we crafted our own under log scenes, and practiced digging burrows in our discovery bins.

Next week we will be learning all about trees in the fall!

Keeping checking back every week to follow the Knee-High Naturalists on all of their adventures!
