3/1 Snackers

We finished out our series with making a list of “snackers” today. There’s quite a few; deer, mice, chickadees, blue jays, owls, hawks, coyotes, rabbits, foxes, bobcats etc.  These are animals that are active all winter.

Before our story we experimented with balance and gravity by making ramps for marbles. We found that marbles traveled longer distances the taller the ramp.

Outside we ice skated along the trails and found the snow too hard to dig in. The crunchy snow did work nicely as a scrub brush and we cleaned some of large climbing rocks only to discover crystal inside. We tried for a long to extract the crystals with sticks but found that the rocks were too hard to break apart.

Back inside we finished our day by making mice finger puppets and working as a team to clean up our ramps and projects from earlier in our morning.
