2012 Gourmet Game Dinner
Support our work on the Boardman River and enjoy amazing local food! The Rotary Club of Traverse City is hosting its annual Gourmet Game Dinner to benefit our critical role protecting one of the most outstanding natural features of the Grand Traverse Bay Region.
September 26, 2012 – Traverse City Golf & Country Club – Starts at 6:00 PM
Why is the Boardman River such a big deal to our “up north” communities? The Boardman River Watershed spans 287 square miles and drains about 182,800 acres of land through nearly 180 miles of river and stream tributaries. What’s all of this add up to? 30% of the surface water input into Grand Traverse Bay. This makes the Boardman River the largest tributary to the West Arm of Grand Traverse Bay.
Not to mention, the Boardman River and its watershed are enjoyed by tens-of-thousands of anglers, boaters, hunters, hikers, and wildlife watchers all year ’round.
