10/12 Colorful Leaves

Today was all about leaves! The trees are slowly starting to turn in our woods and we went on a hike to search for autumn colors. Our story this week, Colorful Leaves, shared all about the types of trees that live in our forest and what their leaf shapes look like.

Our hike was full of comparisons. We compared colors, shapes, sizes and textures as we collected leaves. Some of the leaves we found were bigger than our faces! We also hunted for trees that were still green and practiced saying the word conifer.

We ended our day making decorative leaves from what we had collected and playing in our sensory bin that smells like apple pie.
